Armageddon Time

Director James Gray’s unflinching personal story of his childhood in 1980s Queens in the wake of Ronald Reagan’s election. It tells the story of a friendship between a middle-class Jewish loner and an isolated black boy, and all the forces that ultimately divide them. Privilege and its moral compromises, and the tensions between remembering our family’s history and idealizing the American dream, make this one resonate. It also includes members of the Trump family – who were prominent in Queens during the era. Starring Anthony Hopkins, Anne Hathaway, and Succession‘s Jeremy Strong.
