Avatar: The Last Airbender

A live-action remake of the widely popular Nickelodeon animated series of the same name, it’s the story of a happy go lucky 12-year-old named Aang who is on his path to fulfill his destiny as the Avatar — the master of all four “bending” varieties (fire, water, earth, air). He’s kind of like the Dalai Lama — reborn whenever his predecessor passes away. Martial arts battles, humor,  romance, and zen like lessons punctuate each episode, brought to life by a top notch ensemble cast that includes Gordon Cormier, Daniel Dae Kim, Utkarsh Ambudkar, George Takei, Danny Pudi, A Martinez, Ken Leung, Amber Midthunder, and Arden Cho. All eight first-season episodes stream today on Netflix.
