A tense, espionage‑laced alternate history thriller that flips the POV, raises the stakes, and delivers a darker, more psychologically gripping counterpoint to For All Mankind — without requiring any homework.

The premise:  In 1969, a Soviet cosmonaut become the first human on the moon, and his wife is dragged from bed by the KGB to watch the landing in secret. From there, the show drops us inside the USSR’s real-life cosmonaut training center as they push toward ever-riskier missions under constant surveillance and political pressure.

Star City taps into our current anxieties about authoritarian regimes and outsized space ambitions while reexamining the race to the moon as a story about power, propaganda, and national mythmaking. Fans of sci-fi, historical dramas, and spy thrillers will embrace the eight episode series.  Episodes will be released on Apple TV+ each Friday.
