Not your typical British detective series, HBO-Channel 4 production follows a Scotland Yard detective who heads home to Kingston, Jamaica, only to end up back in London in an explosive international missing persons case. Created by the Booker Prize-winning author Marlon James, who mined his own personal story for the series, the six episodes weave in the post-colonial class divide, racism, and anti-LGBQT bent of the Caribbean nation while delivering a gripping and gritty whodunit. Tamara Lawrance and Chyna McQueen take the lead roles.
