Franklin

Michael Douglas stars in this lavish historical drama about a lesser known chapter of the American Revolution: Ben Franklin’s clandestine trip to France as the first diplomat. Surrounded by spies, enticing married women, hostile colleagues, and his frisky grandson (Noah Jupe), with the war at home on the brink of failure, the series reveals how the first “global celebrity” secured the funds and built the alliances that would change history.  A transporting, engrossing, cross-generation watch, it has relevance to today. Check out the “What Franklin Can Teach Us About Diplomacy” from the series that apply today — from a speechwriter who worked under the US Ambassador to the UN.
