Netflix plague comedy The Decameron
The Decameron

A laugh-out-loud dark comedy about a group of wealthy medieval Italians and their servants who must quarantine from the Black Plague at their villa outside Florence. Monty Python-esque humor, sexcapades, and gross-out farce collide in the able hands of Tony Hale (VEEP), Zosia Mamet (Girls), and Saoirse-Monica Jackson (Derry Girls), who lead the cast. Teenage Bounty Hunters’ Kathleen Jordan is the lead writer and Jenji Kohan (Orange Is the New Black) produces. Eight episodes stream today. From the New York Times‘ James Poniewozik: “The Decameron” is under no illusions about the terrors of death or the frailties and vanities of humanity, but it counterweights that with spirited comedy.
