False Positive

Broad City’s Ilana Glazer is the latest comedy star to transition to horror with this feminist take on Rosemary’s Baby, which she co-wrote and stars in. She plays Lucy Martin, a woman who gets pregnant with her first child with her older husband Adrian (Justin Theroux). Their doctor is John Hindle (Pierce Brosnan), who Lucy doesn’t trust. She suspects these men are up to something, and she starts to have terrifying visions that might actually be real. The film’s co-writer and director is John Lee, who co-created the deeply unnerving surreal comedy shows Wonder Showzen and Xavier: Renegade Angel, so this movie is probably going to end up in a really dark place. Rosemary’s Baby didn’t show us what they did to his eyes. False Positive is going to show it all. The film is produced by the can’t-miss indie distributor A24, which is about as close to a guarantee of quality as you can get.
