There’s a lived-in feeling to the comedy too, like it emerges organically from actual storytelling that continues the particular ’90s-style exploration of the galaxy we saw on “Next Gen” and “Deep Space Nine.”

It is neither grim nor frivolous. It’s just a good time — and who doesn’t want that every once in awhile?

As the show focuses more on the strength of its breakneck storytelling, it’s becoming not just the best reason to try Crackle, but one of the more promising new streaming series of the year.

The characters and production design are terrific, and the feverishly imagined monsters are capable of delivering real chills and Evil Dead-style goofiness.

Certain storylines and directions might raise a few eyebrows, but trust the exceptional cast and crew, who come back fully swinging. Ted Lasso transcends the current TV landscape, where the definition of a comedy gets more and more nebulous everyday.

Tehran makes it clear that the Mossad is capable of unsavory violence, and it pointedly avoids reducing Iranians to monsters, carefully making a distinction between the people and their government.
