Outlander: Blood of My Blood

A prequel to the Outlander series that stands on it own, Blood of My Blood is a romantic historical drama that tells the alternating love stories of the future Jamie Fraser’s parents in 18th-century Scotland and Claire Beauchamp’s parents in World War I England. Grounded in actual historical events and shot in the Scottish Highlands, it weaves together stirring (TV-MA) romances, war-time stakes, and time travel twists much like the original series. Yet this origin story also also captures more of the historical context, including the razor’s edge tension between loyalty to a king, clan honor, and personal survival at a time when open rebellion could lead you to your execution. Two episodes arrive today followed by new episodes each Friday.
