A one‑episode special on Disney+ and ABC that revives the original 1976–1981 variety show, it pretends that the classic series simply returned for Season 6 but in 2026 — and it’s a possible “pilot test” for a new season. There are musical numbers, slapstick and surreal humor for the grownups and the kids, and backstage gags (Kermit as now the showrunner), and it weaves in Sabrina Carpenter along with cameos from Maya Rudolph and Seth Rogen.
