The FXX comedy used to be a good show about dating. Now it’s a great show about relationships.

By approaching Marshall as an idealistic young trial lawyer, the film stands on its own as a compelling courtroom drama, complete with surprising revelations and while we hope things will go his way, this case could just as easily prove the one that motivated his future crusade.

The movie’s payoff is every bit as delicious as its build-up.

Artful and atmospheric to the max, Never Here is a study in personality disintegration dressed up as a whodunit. The film marks an auspicious debut for writer-director Camille Thoman.

The cast is divine, the show feels contemporary and smart (its explorations of sexual and gender identity feel particularly profoundly needed), and Rita Moreno can still crack your heart right open.

Daly is a masterful comedian who can find the humor in even the direst of circumstances. His portrayal of Forrest flips between intrinsic good nature and startling ferocity when a review lets him throw his normally laced-up inhibitions to the wind (see: “orgy”).
