Offering a weird mix of over-the-top violence and dark humor, Gunpowder Milkshake weds the spaghetti western with the colorful visuals of anime, enhancing that with an inordinately good cast for such a silly movie. The net result provides considerable fun.

For all its gut-punch humor, ‘’Hacks’’ is dead serious about how show business treats women. You might be laughing too hard to hear it, but there’s a low frequency scream running just beneath the comedy. This show makes a rich contribution to the buddy comedy tradition, never superficial or skin deep and always very, very funny.

“Hello, Me!” is a standard rom-com kdrama, its similar to many other kdramas of its genre, this drama deals with heavy topics as well such as death, struggles with past horrible mistakes and more. But they deal with these themes delicately and give every single one of them the coverage they deserve, and it also retains a sense of humor that doesn’t feel odd or misplaced.

Watch as Jamila Norman transforms sad attempts at a home garden into a full-fledged urban oasis. Norman, who started farming to grow healthy foods for her sons, operates Patchwork City Farms in the middle of Atlanta and teaches others (viewers included) about things like that basil and tomatoes grow great together, how to house your flock of backyard chickens, and more.

I’ve had the chance to screen four of the six stories and, as one would expect from National Geographic, each entry is inspiring and empowering. And key for me, they’re not at all preachy. This series doesn’t come off like it has an agenda, but rather serves as a platform to share the amazing work these ladies are doing even when the odds are stacked against them.

Ramos instantly secures his future as a leading man, but every single member of the cast is giving it their all, infusing their vocals and movements with life.
