You might remember the American adaptation of it, Ugly Betty. But American Ferrara’s comedy hit was actually based on the most famous Latin American telenovela of all time, Yo Soy Betty, La Fea. After breaking Prime Video’s Latin American viewership records, Amazon has launched what they’re calling a second season of the Columbian version, Betty la Fea: The Story Continues, with Betty now a fashion-industry CEO whose company is teetering on the brink, right along with her marriage. New romance, a reinvention, a boardroom showdown, and flashbacks to the 1999 classic that make this one a cultural trip back in time and back to the original.
