Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again(2018)find me fun, give me hope, romance me, transport me · From Allison Shoemaker at Consequence of Sound: Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is one of the most batshit crazy pieces of outright nonsense this writer has ever had the pleasure of encountering, and while calling it an excellent film would be going way too far, I enjoyed every single goddamn second of it. |
Coco(2017)find me fun, give me hope, transport me · From Alan Scherstuhl at Village Voice: Yes, Coco thrills with its of-the-moment visual invention, but its core elements dead relatives, family photos, the power of loving memory couldn’t be more timeless. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2(2017)From Stephanie Zacharek at Time: In striving to surprise us every minute with its seen-it-all irony, Guardians Vol. 2 is actually the surprise-spoiler of all time. Every Wow! or Haha! has been scripted in advance. |
The Good Place(2017)de-stress me, find me fun, make me laugh, stretch my mind, transport me · From Sam Adams at Slate: The Good Place’s first season was subtly informed by the absurdity of addressing weighty moral questions in the form of a network sitcom, and its second takes the meta to new levels. |
